Andy's favorite drawer

Andy likes crawling up inside the spinning cupboard (above)
This boy cracks me up...when he's done playing in a cupboard, he'll shut the doors before he army-crawls away.

11 months

A few days ago was Andy's eleven month mark. Andrea congratulated Lance and me on keeping him alive this long:) He has learned so many new things lately... A couple weeks ago he learned how to sit up from his army-crawl position, then just this past week he learned to stand up! His favorite place to stand is against the bathtub, but he'll also stand against the kitchen drawers he pulls out and at his toy box. Andy's new favorite pastime is opening cupboards and drawers! He enjoys leaving toys in all the cabinetry, then coming back later to find them! He's making lots of new sounds and sometimes we wonder if he thinks we can understand him. Andy is such a people person and loves giving strangers the peace sign. Once he gets more comfortable with someone new he'll spit in their face and laugh. He was very sad this week to say goodbye to his favorite (and only) babysitters, the Venema family. I promised him we'll go visit them in Florida:)

Happy 3rd of July!

With July 4th falling on a Sunday this year, Idaho Falls had their big show on Saturday. Lance got called to work that evening so Andy and I met up with Andrea to watch the fireworks on the greenbelt. We were worried the little guy might get scared, but he loved them! We tried his ear muffs, then his bomber hat to help muffle the sound, but as you can see that didn't work out too well.. Luckily from where we were sitting they weren't too loud. Andy was enthralled the entire time, often 'ahhh'-ing and 'ooooh'-ing. What a cutie!

Firecracker 5k Run

Update: the results are in! Looks like I came in 28th for my age division, and 195 overall - yay!

Dana and I ran the 5th annual Firecracker 5k in Idaho Falls on saturday. She clocked in a whole ten minutes sooner than me, but I was still proud of myself for running the whole way! Dane is training for the Pocatello marathon coming up in September! And thank you Lance, Andy, and Andrea for waking up early to come out in the cold (45 degrees!) and cheer us on!
