Sunday, June 27th

Alex and Andy
Rachel, Addie, and the MacBeth's kittens
Andy was pretty proud of himself for getting into a standing position for the first time
The Venema's are moving to Florida next week...they have been wonderful neighbors and friends who will be greatly missed! Andy loves playing at their house with all 7 of their kids who keep him very entertained!
Andy climbed the two bottom stairs all by himself a couple days ago!!
Sometimes Andy locks his legs when we're trying to get him in his stroller, highchair, or carseat; this makes Dad a little frustrated
Went for a stroll around the greenbelt yesterday
Yesterday I was released from my calling as 1st Counselor in Young Womens. It's been lots of fun working with the other leaders, and I will miss all the girls so much!!

Happy 1st Father's Day, Lance!

We celebrated Father's Day with a BBQ and paddleboating. Andrea and her friend joined us for the occasion. Lance got a new shirt (above) and some new shaving supplies. Andy was a little selfish and got himself new pajamas, but they do say 'I Love Dad' on them:) Lance really is the greatest Dad any child could ask for (and any wife!) He works so hard for our family. We love you Lancer!

Summer Fun!

Andyman; 10 months

It's nice to finally be able to spend time outside without having a winter coat on.
Andy loves it when Anna comes to play
On one especially sad day for teething I put Andy on his car to try and cheer him up...
That lasted about 20 seconds.
Andy absolutely loves sleeping in our bed. He always has his head covered with a burp cloth or blanket when he's asleep.
Eating puffs
Army crawling
Sleeping on Dad's shoulder:) He hasn't done this for months, but Lance got lucky this day because Andy wasn't feeling well.

At ten months old Andy's army-crawling is getting faster than ever! As my mother always says, "you turn your head for a second and they're gone." She's more right every day. We now have to keep the gate at the top of the stairs at all times, and I'm trying to get in the habit of closing the bedroom and bathroom doors! His favorite pastime is pulling out pieces of carpet and putting them in his mouth. His forth tooth (bottom right) finally came in after much pain, drooling, and chomping on everything he could get in his mouth. Andy got his first ear infection last week, in his right ear, and the left was beginning to show signs as well. He has definitely been taking full advantage of our sympathy. He's been crying at night, so we'll go in his room to find him reaching out of the crib with a sly smirk on his face, like he knows exactly how to get us to make the transfer to our bed. As soon as we lay him between us in the bed he turns himself perpendicular so that he can kick Lance in the face while pulling my hair and spitting on me in between giggles.. But we told him tonight that once he's finished his antibiotics we're done with that game. A few days ago he began opening kitchen cupboards and drawers, which he thoroughly enjoys. He packs toys, socks, shoes, water bottles, whatever he can find around with him then he'll open a drawer and throw it inside and look around and laugh. He'll also take an object and toss it out of reach in a hard-to-get-to place just to see if he can maneuver himself in there and get it. And when he reaches it he'll either spit really loud and/or laugh and clap. It's great. Sometimes he'll take something and throw it over the crossbars on the legs of a chair, pick it up, and do it again, over and over. Every morning while I'm making his cereal I ask him if he wants to listen to his music and I turn on his nursery rhymes CD in the kitchen. A few weeks ago he began bouncing up and down to the music in his high chair. But now all I have to do is say the word 'music' and he'll start bouncing before I even turn it on! He is so stinking cute, and just thrives on all the attention he gets!

SLC Lineman's Rodeo 2010

For our THIRD trip to Salt Lake in one month Lance participated in the annual Rocky Mountain Power Lineman's Rodeo. We brought Rachael and Leah with us because in years past we'd seen activities for kids there and thought they might like it. The girls thought this over-nighter was their 'summer vacation,' (poor things!) They asked Dana how many days it would be and she said, "Well, let's see, friday AND saturday!" Isn't it funny how kids think hotels are the greatest places on earth?? I was really glad we invited them because they were able to do lots of fun things. The highlight of the trip however was Lance taking FIRST PLACE in the rodeo for Rocky Mountain Power!! Way to represent, Lancer! He was third overall, out of 101 participants. Now he'll get to compete this fall in Kansas City for nationals. I'm proud of him, especially since he wasn't even trying to place! And the second highlight of the trip was when Aunt Weesh almost hit a cow moose standing right in our lane of traffic going through the Malad pass...no more texting for me:)
